Relentless, wandering amidst the trees
Crack of the branches, Falling of leaves
Dew drops glistening in the morning light
Sounds of birds, Wings in flight

Water flowing in the creek
Kookaburra laughing tongue in cheek
Twitch and jerk of the kangaroo's ear
Stretching his head trying to hear.

A blue tongue scuttles under a log
As a bird watches intent on catching a frog
The golden orb spins its web from branch to ground
Whilst crickets sing songs, But none can be found.

Time stands still, But for the setting sun
Young joey's play fight, For fun
Softly glistening, Golden rays of light
Daytime creatures settle in for the night.
